I, Me and YoU

I am who I am!!!!

I am my own with power over my choice

I craft my destiny and make my life rules 

I have my beliefs by which I live my life.


I am who I am

But you should be who I like you to be....

How dare you raise your voice!

How dare you question me!

How dare you walk the path unknown!

How dare you stray from the path I decreed as your destiny! 

How dare you believe you have a choice!

How dare you believe you can think, speak or question!!!


I am who I am 

But do I really know what I am? 

As days, nights and seasons pass

I wilt and wait forever for the right moment, 

when fate and luck works in my favour 

and I courageously walk towards what I wanted for me.


I am who I am 

Boxed away in my own beliefs and ideals. 

I yearn for a so-called freedom 

But balk at the idea of free will and speech. 

I impose my choices on others 

And judge and execute those who undermine my authority 

I say I wish for freedom

But I revel in my hypocrisy 

I harp about my forward ideology

That I change and modify 

To only suit my needs and idiosyncrasy.


I am who I am

But I forget so are you

As I slowly chip away your will and freedom 

A rebellion at horizon looms large.

Maybe I see myself in your failures 

A symbol of lost hope and opportunities. 

Maybe I hate your guts

To question and fight for your worth.

Maybe it's time to let you go free.

Free from my control and bondage

Maybe it's time you craft your own destination 

While I slowly see what it's feels like

To live according to free will.....

Marriages today and always: Lost in Translation

  Today my friend and I had an intense coffee table discussion over a recent increase in post marriage dissatisfaction and dissolution of marriages. Now it may be convenient to put the blame on familial interference, economic issues, increased social media influence and increase in women empowerment along with impatience. But at the root of all it lies the simple fact that once married, the onus to keep trying dies. Marriage is a binding oath with a fixed template created by the society and followed by generations. Whether we like it or not, the urge to be complacent and follow what our parents, their parents and our fellow peers have been doing wins in the end.  Whether be love or arranged, be it wife or husband, most of the marriages become devoid of passion and feeling after some time. Who is my happy ending? Like in the movies n romcom  We walk towards the sunset with..... Is it my lovers who changed as the seasons change? Or my progeny I see drifting apart with growth? Is it my parents who I barely have a conversation with anymore? Or my siblings entwined in their own life? Maybe it's my besties I get together once in a while to discuss life over coffee I must say they come the closest to the one I bare my soul to.
