Dear life.....please wait!!!

My life is on pause

I have goals to achieve 

Miles to traverse. 

Life can wait 

Until I reach whenever

Dear life please wait

I have reels to watch.


My life is on pause

Burdened by jobs and family 

I wonder I am doing the job for family 

Or family has become my job.

I promise you life I'll get back to you

Wait some more

One more promotion 

One more birthday 

One more digit in my account 

One more thing to my name

Just one more....


My life is on pause

I barely register the moments passing me

I curse every Monday

I waste every Sunday 

I work all day so I can sleep in my expensive bed

Then I lie awake as life whispers remember me.


My life is on pause

I'll live it soon

I promise I have seen the future, I have eternity 

Just wait for the perfect tomorrow 


Now as reapers come for me

I see life on my death bed

Walking me through my wasted life

Laughing at me saying 

I was never on pause, I was beside you 

Just a choice away.

I reminisce and regret as there will be no tomorrow.

    To quote John Lennon “ Life is what happens, while you're busy making other plans!”. Now albeit I get the essence of the poem, isn’t life all the moments we live by? Unless of course we really want to do something else other than what we are doing on a regular basis. In which case either we should choose to enjoy it or leave it and pick up what appeals to our soul’s craving. Either way, all that changes this whole experience is just a matter of choice.

    Life happens but we are too busy chasing the next goal to live it.
    Life happens but we are never present in it.
    Even the mundane can be special, if we are there and then.
    We focus too selective,
    and then it springs the most unexpected surprises

My Happy ending

Who is my happy ending? Like in the movies n romcom  We walk towards the sunset with..... Is it my lovers who changed as the seasons change? Or my progeny I see drifting apart with growth? Is it my parents who I barely have a conversation with anymore? Or my siblings entwined in their own life? Maybe it's my besties I get together once in a while to discuss life over coffee I must say they come the closest to the one I bare my soul to. One day, as our fathers, forefathers and mothers kept renouncing the generational gap, somebody woke up and chose violence. He/ she decided that it's high time we acknowledge and label different generations, hence the "" millennials "" came to be. A sad lost and hopeless generation, stuck between the past and present, analog and digital, artificial and organic, duty and love, wokeness and traditional. We have seen a lot of changes around but not within us. We saw food shift from natural homegrown to artificial and chemical laden. Now we search for overpriced, chemical-free and organic sustenance. We moved from rearing cattle with our parents to becoming lactose intolerant as we age. From postcards and letters we slowly came to perfunctory statuses and WhatsApp messages.
